Abstract :
The first step in the design and implementation of DAC is to analyze the characteristics of the baseband modulated signal right before digital-to-analog conversion. This is crucial in order to minimize the complexity of the DAC. The paper demonstrates the generalized derivation of the optimum DAC resolution for various wireless standards based on the analytical evaluation of the normalized power distribution, clipping noise effect, and dynamic range.
