Abstract :
This study discusses potentials and features of a deep vacuum-ultraviolet generation of short pulses by the anti-Stokes stimulated Raman scattering (ASRS) based on the Stark chirped rapid adiabatic passage (SCRAP). In contrast to the nonlinear frequency mixing the ASRS do not require phase matching and permit to generate a widely tunable coherent radiation. As it will be shown, an advantage of this approach, in comparison with used earlier ones, is the complete population inversion on the length of an active medium.
