Abstract
In this paper, we present Webquests as a didactic resource that allows applying the methodology of Problem-based Learning to Competency-based Curriculum, in order to bridge the gap between “know-what” and “know-how”. This tool takes advantage of constructivism and cooperative learning, methodologies that should prevail in the engineer´s developing their capacity to problematize reality and focusing problems solving strategies to raise, such as problem identification, search of feasible solutions, and prioritization of them according to requirements and available resources. With these parameters set, it is possible to determine the time length of the Webquest and then to proceed to create its components: 1) Introduction, 2) Task, 3) Instructions or processes; 4) Resources, 5) Evaluation and 6) Conclusions, by using one of the many implementation alternatives available online.
