  • Abstract
    A distributed-constant branch-line coupler called type D and its equivalent transformation to a lumped-element branch coupler are discussed. Design equations for five lumped-element type D branch couplers of arbitrary power division and impedance transformation are presented. Measurements using trial couplers consisting of four capacitors and two inductors showed good agreement with theoretical calculations except for a slight shift, approximately 10%, in frequency.
