Abstract :
In this paper, null steering to reject interference is investigated for linear phased array antenna using genetic algorithm (GA). The GA adjusts the amplitude and the phase of each radiating element to minimize the total output power in the direction of the interfering signals. The cost function is derived to maximize the ratio between the power of the desired signal and that of the interference signal for linear phased array antenna. Then the null steering algorithm is coded with MATLAB using phase only in order to facilitate the realization. Various simulated results are presented and performance of the null steering algorithm is analyzed by considering null depth, and accuracy.
