Abstract :
What makes a successful e-learning? In order to define and analyze this we have proposed, assessed, measured and evaluated e-learning concepts and factors that substantially influence learning. The purpose was to raise the awareness of the factors influencing e-learning in order to enhance learning and identify the nature of obstacles being faced by e-learners. The data for this research was gathered from a Web based survey of academic staff and students. The research method used was qualitative research and comparative analyses of e-learning indicators influencing learning. Student focus groups and Web based survey were used to gain insights on the e-learning environment they use as well as determining the e-learning indicators that influence the overall quality and interest in thoughts about e-learning. The focus of the research was the analyses of the previously proposed e-learning indicators that impact the level of e-learning and proposing recommendations to increase this level. The main purpose of the research was to assess and improve the overall e-learning quality and dissemination of knowledge by defining and measuring e-learning indicators. Such examination is critical considering the promises, organization and management, heavy investments, expectations, and exponential growth associated with e-learning. The recommendations are in a form of a methodology approach and were broadly generalized for all e-learning environments.
