Abstract
This work proposed a content adaptive de-interlacing algorithm for conversion of interlaced video to progressive video. The proposed algorithm consists of a texture analyzer that classifies the content of a frame into 4 different categories (smooth area, near horizontal edge, near vertical edge and texture area), and chooses the most suitable de-interlacing algorithm for interpolating the missing pixel.
