  • Abstract
The paper investigates and characterizes the performance of a hybrid space-path diversity direct sequence receiver in multipath frequency selective radio channels. For high data rates, the delay spread of the multipath channel introduces intersymbol interference (ISI). Thus, both intersymbol interference and channel selectivity degrade the performance of the simple correlating receiver. The performance using a space-path diversity maximal ratio combining receiver, for different data rates and a typical urban channel model (maximum delay of 5 /spl mu/s), is presented.
