Abstract :
Route optimization plays an important role in oversized/overweight cargo´s transportation, which can speed up the process of cargo´s transportation. This study provides one measuring system for vehicle´s passing ability in space. The system consists of many sensors and software which can conquer the unevenness caused by road, and gets the accurate results. The clearance between obstacle and vehicle, GPS information, slope, image and other related information are obtained and stored into database. All information about vehicle´s passing ability in space can be queried and displayed in Google maps. Thus, decision-maker can decide which route should be chosen easily.
