Abstract
Peak current mode control cannot be directly applied to half-bridge DC-DC converters due to imbalanced capacitor voltage. In the paper, a control scheme is proposed to balance capacitor voltages in a high voltage half-bridge DC-DC converter. Conventional solutions to the problem are mostly based on an additional hardware. In the case of high voltage and power, any additional component to the converter drastically increases costs and volumes. Thus, a software solution is preferable. This paper analyzes different software solutions and introduces an innovative approach to current mode control. The new control method is verified with experimental results.
