Abstract
This work shows that polaritons, the quasi-particles formed as the eigenmodes of the interacting photon-exciton system in a microcavity-quantum well, can indeed exhibit dynamic condensation. The investigation used GaAs/AlAs quantum wells embedded at the antinodes of a microcavity formed by distributed Bragg reflectors grown in the same material system by molecular beam epitaxy. The system is pumped by a ps mode-locked laser on resonance with the exciton line at large in-plane momentum, corresponding to a large external angle.
