Abstract
The H-shaped patch antenna is investigated as a solution to the miniaturized design for ultra high frequency radio frequency identification reader applications. Based on the transmission line model, a program is developed to calculate the dimensions of the proposed antenna with given size constraints and specific substrate parameters. The simple program can carry out fast and accurate calculation and generate various H-shaped patch configurations for specific frequency with desired accuracy. Compared to the results from method-of-moments, the tolerance of the calculated resonant frequency is within 2%.
