Abstract
In this paper, Julian Dunayevich gives an account of his role in the early days of the process that eventually resulted in the first teleinformatic networks in Argentina. As part of his work at the Universidad de Buenos Aires´ Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales (the UBA´s College of Natural and Exact Sciences), he founded the Red Académica Nacional (National Academic Network), UBA´s Centro de Comunicación Científica (Center for Scientific Communication), he coordinated the Red de Interconexión Universitaria (University Interconnection Network), Red de Escuelas (Schools´ Network). He founded LACNIC, and was involved in the most important debates and projects in the field from 1985 to the present.).
