Abstract :
A microstrip transmission line structure on silicon substrate is field-theoretically investigated by means of a partial wave synthesis. Propagation parameters like effective permittivity, attenuation, and characteristic impedance are derived from the complete field solution considering line widths from 10 mu m to 500 mu m. Conductor and substrate attenuation are treated separately.<>
