Abstract
When the amount of data into the database is growing, data query efficiency will drop, data space will be too large. To address this issue, this paper analyzes a data warehouse engine infobright. After quantitative analysis and comparison of common engine with MySQL, experiments show its characteristics, showing that the proposed infobright engine to adapt to such a data environment. In the experimental environment, the large amounts of data were imported into the infobright engine and common mysql engine. It can be compared that the situation between the two data storage and query process. In the subsequent comparison of time consumption between the two engine we can reach the following conclusions: Infobright it has a high compression ratio and can be significant saved in data storage. And Infobright has a TB level data storage, can fit complex analysis of SQL queries, is faster than normal MySQL Storage Engine 5-60 times. So it improves database performance. Meanwhile, Infobright is also found that some limitations in certain environment. For example, it can not execute a single statement of the insert, update, delete, modify operation. The data table can only be whole units. These characteristics make it more suitable for changes that do not requird and mass data storage, such as historical data.
