Abstract
Assuming arbitrary distribution for the additive noise at the communication receiver, we propose a new approach for the signal estimation and detection problems in the FIR channel. By applying the Bayesian law, the MAP estimator/detector are obtained. The complexity of the proposed algorithms are much lower than the Viterbi decoder. As an example, the binary signal sequence is recovered from the measurement data corrupted by a highly impulsive noise process with symmetric α-stable distribution
