  • Abstract
An absorbing boundary condition (ABC) is applied to surfaces of three-dimensional electromagnetic finite-element models. The finite elements are based on nodal values of magnetic vector potential and time-integrated scalar potential. The ABC is based upon the Wilcox expansion. Results for test cases of both axisymmetric and fully three-dimensional models of a quarter wavelength wire monopole over a ground plane are compared with theory, and the reflections of the ABC are shown to be approximately 40 dB down.<>
