Abstract :
A low frequency analysis of a perfectly conducting rectangular wire-grid mounted on the surface of a layered planar structure of chiral and/or anisotropic slabs is performed. The stratified structure is characterized in terms of spectral impedance, which is a complex function of the different slabs constitutive tensor coefficients. The spectral impedance is computed by a chain matrix algorithm and an equivalent circuit network model in the spectral domain is derived. In the geometry considered, a general stratified structure composed of chiral and/or anisotropic slabs is located in the region z>0 whereas the rectangular grid is located at z=0. To apply the spectral formalism, the stratified structure loading the wire-mesh has to be characterized as a loading spectral impedance. In order to compute it in closed form, each layer of the complex stratified structure is modeled by means of a transmission matrix.<>
