Abstract :
The regional Informationization is inseparable from government´s push and promotion. From the observation, the Governments can directly contributes to informationization by making overall planning, developing strategies, conducting the infrastructure roll-outs, encouraging ICT-use, or indirectly improve the external environment of ICT development by establishing regulatory agencies, introducing regulation policies, and stimulating the progress of regional economics, technologies, education, legacy and others. However, it´s still hard to decide to what extend and from what aspect the governments contribute to regional Informationization, especially in China, because there´s still little study in this field. In this paper, both qualitative research and quantitative research will be used to try answering this question. In qualitative research, we go through local governments´ endeavor to regional Informationization; in quantitative research we use cross-section data to make an regression analysis. The result shows that, Local governments´ ICT projects make the biggest contribution on regional Informaitonization.
