Abstract :
This paper presents a novel Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) for the digital control switched DC-DC converter aiming at dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) power management applications, in which the power supply voltage can be dynamically regulated to meet the minimum voltage value required by the system´s specific performance. A novel adaptive delay-tracking technique is proposed. A dynamically scaling voltage ranged from 1.3V to 3.05V is obtained corresponding to a control clock frequency ranged from 0 MHz to 35MHz. An extremely low power consumption of 4.5μA/MHz is obtained. The designed ADC is implemented and verified in a digital controlled Buck converter, which achieves a DVS function with a fast response and high stability.
