  • Abstract
Application of microoptical elements to quantum information processing with atoms and discussion of the inherent advantages and the potential of the new approach are presented. As one example, applicability of arrays of microfabricated lenses to create multiple far-detuned dipole traps for storing and manipulating qubits inscribed into atoms are experimentally investigated.
