  • Abstract
The paper presents a wire-mesh tomograph for high-speed visualization, i.e. construction of images of transient gas fraction distributions in two-phase flow through pipes. It is based on the measurement of the local instantaneous conductivity of the two-phase mixture, one is very low conductive gas, like air, another is higher conductive liquid, like water. The time resolution of the device is approximately 2.02 frames per second. The sensor consists of two electrode grids with 8 electrodes each. This results in 8 × 8 sensitive points, which are equally distributed over the cross-section. The electrodes are made by Stainless Steel or Tungsten wire. Copper wires may be use for testing purpose only.
