Abstract :
The Key Escrow System (KES) bridges the gap between users´ privacy and social needs for protection against criminal behavior. However, there are some disadvantages and controversies regarding the system. In this paper, we propose a new key escrow system, which not only meets the requirements of the KES but also provides a key recovery feature for users. The system can be implemented easily in software or hardware with familiar and tested public cryptographic functions that should significantly reduce controversy
