Abstract
Summary form only given. The Antenna Laboratory (now the ElectroScience Laboratory) was created during World War II. With the advent of the launching of Sputnik and the Korean War, the Antenna Laboratory experienced a period of unprecedented growth. With the exception of a static period in the early 1970s the Antenna Laboratory, by now the ElectroScience Laboratory, continued to grow and its technical breadth had increased substantially.<>
