Abstract
We designed and fabricated traveling-wave electroabsorption modules for RF/optic conversion. The RF gain was measured with simple RF/optic link. It was related with optical transfer curve. The input optical power caused the change of transfer curve so that the RF gain varied accordingly. RF/optic conversion gain showed a close relationship with the slope efficiency of transfer curve. Linearity was also one of the important characteristics for analog applications. We could evaluate linearity of module from IMD3.
