Abstract :
A new continuously tunable photonic microwave filter based on two parallel Fabry-Perot filters is proposed and experimentally demonstrated in the 40 GHz band. The filter can be tuned over an ultra-broad bandwidth and provides a quite high Q factor. The architecture is based on commercial devices and allows the practical filtering of radiofrequency signals adding just two Fabry-Perot filters and two combiners to the radio-over-fiber link. In addition the proposed scheme avoids the carrier suppression effect since one of the sidebands is eliminated.
