Abstract :
The wheelbase difference will produce a great influence on automobile performance, and will bring up the huge economic losses and driving risks if it exceeds a certain limit, so it is significant reality important to detect vehicle wheelbase difference. The paper puts forward new detecting method of automobile wheelbase difference based on piezoelectric tire print, and builds up the mathematical model of detecting and error compensation on the base of relative measurement theory. After designing the detecting device with the dual trapezoidal bottom slot, carried out experimental analysis pointing to detecting accuracy of wheel horizontal position, the result indicates that this device can make precise measurement and achieve error compensation under the curve driving condition. Finally, through carrying out practical detecting, data statistical analysis proves that the detecting system has the good characteristic of repeatability and stability, and can realize accurate detecting. The detecting device of wheelbase difference has the feature of high accuracy and low cost, therefore the device is with good application value.
