Abstract
Audio-visual services in public telecommunication networks and various Internet services are two of the most typical communication services at present. To integrate these two services, the DAVIC (Digital Audio Visual Council) specifies the Internet access method. However, some functionality, such as Full Internet access, are not specified in detail and also DAVIC´s method had not been reported to be implemented and to provide Internet services. This paper proposes an architecture for DAVIC users to access the Internet with its functional entities, service scenario, and protocols. The proposed method supports the Full Internet access service, in which a user in the Internet can initiate an Internet service toward a user of DAVIC system, as well as a DAVIC user can do the reverse. The architecture proposed also suggests an addressing and naming scheme in detail for realizing the Full Internet access method
