Abstract :
Uncooled 25-Gb/s transmission of a 1.3-μm surface-emitting laser is demonstrated. A fabricated laser, which consists of an InGaAlAs-MQW DFB active stripe and surface-mountable structure, exhibited clear 25-Gb/s eye openings after 2-km SMF transmission up to 85°C.
