Abstract :
To enable a better understanding of electric and magnetic fields (EMF) influences on the human body, a system for monitoring the electromagnetic influences on humans in living and working environments is under development. The system which is based on the approach of virtual reality, offers to the user a means to investigate the working and living environments, and synthesizes the 3D graphics interfaces with mathematical methods for determination of human´s exposure parameters to electromagnetic fields. An application of the system for the visualization of electromagnetic fields influences on humans when a hand-held device is used is presented. The human model for real-time visualization is described, the methods used for computation of the various parameters, and the corresponding results are presented.
