Abstract :
A novel adaptive algorithm which can be implemented to enhance reception of a desired signal in multipath environment is described. The new adaptive array uses a high-resolution direction finding algorithm followed by an optimal combination of antenna outputs. A numerical simulation which takes into account the different system parameters and operating conditions is used to predict the performance of the new adaptive array. The results obtained show that the adaptive array can follow a desired signal while suppressing multipath signals and that this system can also decrease the interference level some 25 dB under the desired signal level, which therefore makes it possible to improve the signal-to-noise ratio.<>
