Abstract
A tunable source for UV spectroscopy with 1.5-μs pulse duration based on SHG of flash lamp pumped dye laser radiation was developed. The influence of the spatial and spectral characteristics of the laser beam on the efficiency of SHG is determined. We have found that spectral bandwidth should not exceed 0.1 nm, and beam divergence should be at least less than 1 mrad for SHG
