Abstract
The concept of late potentials may be expanded if early abnormal activation of the myocardium can be linked to arrhythmogenesis. The detection of abnormal intra-QRS potentials in patients with ventricular tachycardia has been achieved from the raw ECG data based upon a two step wavelet transformation/feature extraction process. The beat-to-beat variance of the QRS-corresponding wavelet coefficients and the modulus maxima evolution across scales have been tested as distinguishing features of arrhythmogenicity. Their comparison with convential late potentials revealed improvements in ventricular tachycardia risk assessment
