  • Abstract
This paper presents a high electromechanical-efficiency resonant driver for switched reluctance motors (SRMs). At high duty-cycle, the phase-current of conventional Miller SRM driver discharges slowly, which causes large negative torque, high power losses, and low electromechanical-efficiency. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a resonant SRM driver using auxiliary resonant inductors and capacitors to have the phase currents discharge quickly. A 160W prototype driver is built to verify the electromechanical efficiency of the proposed resonant SRM drive system.
