Abstract :
The paper proposes a single-phase full-bridge positive/negative pulse charger with energy regeneration and adjustable power factor. Based on a generalized zero vector technique, a novel charging system which combines a single-phase boost rectifier with a buck converter is presented. The system forms a novel single-stage converter of AC to DC, and such a converter has both energy regeneration and power factor improvement advantages. To reduce harmonic current and improve power factor of AC utility, the proposed system uses a kind of current mode feedback control which detects charging current and AC utility current. Furthermore, both DC and small signal model of the proposed charging system are established to obtain transfer function of the system. Finally, simulation using MATLAB and some experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed charger.
