Abstract
Several complexity and chaotic analyses of R-R time series, including LZ complexity, Hurst exponent, first Lyapunov exponent, Pearson coefficient, capacity dimension and correlation dimension are computed for 45 subjects, divided into three groups. Group A are 12 patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and family history of sudden cardiac death, group B are 17 HCM patients without family history of sudden death, and Group C are 16 healthy subjects. Statistical analysis indicates that Pearson coefficient and Hurst exponent can distinguish between healthy subjects and HCM patients. A linear function of LZ complexity, R-R standard deviation and capacity dimension can discriminate between HCM patients of group A and B
