Abstract
Establishment of 125 MW windfarms provided necessary thrust to harnessing renewable energy sources in India. Grid interfacing systems for any windfarms needs careful planning to assess its steady state impact on grid regarding voltage, power factor, and active reactive power losses. This paper presents a novel scheme to improve the performance of grid connected wind-driven induction generators by using a microcontroller controlled power MOSFET based AC voltage controller, both for starting and also for reducing the applied voltage during partial load conditions. The scheme proposed is well analysed and shows excellent performance
