Abstract
This text introduces a method for obtaining a discrete-time state space model from a continuous time delay system via state interpolation. It is assumed here that inputs are constant within sample time intervals, characterizing a Zero Order Hold (ZOH). Assuming that states are first order linear functions - first order interpolation - we obtain more accurate responses. Inputs and outputs with dead-time are also considered.
