Abstract
A new application for powerline communication (PLC) is given by a fictive Ethernet connection between two computers based on the home-plug power alliance standard using the mains wiring. This contribution shows the influence on the sensitivity of a real short-wave receiving station by such a PLC transmission in the house. Measurements and numerical calculations have been compared. The reduction of the signal to noise ratio due to the PLC link and the main reasons for the disturbance is shown.
