Abstract :
A novel approach to monitoring the performance of an antenna feed network using an array of six-port junctions is described. The system uses six-port junctions embedded between pairs of elements of the array. The DC signals at the output of the junction can be used to derive complex wave ratios. The validity of the method has been verified experimentally by simulating a two-element system with a pair of matched transmission lines. An algorithm is proposed to calibrate the junctions based on radiation pattern measurements.<>
