  • Abstract
It´s a problem to achieve the combination of automatic drawing and the professional knowledge of meteorological expert when people develop the Lightning Warning Interactive and Visible System with Java. This paper gives a visualization system based on Java and three-tier framework by borrowing ideas from the development model of Integrated Data Viewer. The system can identify various types of data according to the GrADS paint programs provided by the experts. It can also accomplish the call of drawing program and the display of image. So visualization of various types of meteorological data can be realized. This system uses Java to actualize the presentation layer and business layer. The paint layer is actualized by GrADS. Java calls GrADS as a draw module. They are separate from each other. Thus, the system can not only give the rein to the ability of Java´s interactivity, but also use the powerful drawing ability of GrADS.
