Abstract :
The illumination estimate for the natural scene is to discriminate different illumination condition by using color information which includes illumination, color temperature and chrominance, etc. In this paper, the method of color gamut mapping is used to estimate the illumination for the natural scene. Taking the standard color card as a reference, the tongue-shaped graph and the convex hull algorithm is used to carry on the color temperature match and the illumination estimate. In a word, the color gamut mapping algorithm, the convex hull algorithm and the color temperature matching algorithm are considered as the critical algorithms. And then, the illumination estimation is completed by the relation of the color temperature and the illumination.
