Abstract :
We have investigated the method decomposing organic compounds by spraying water solution into pulsed streamer discharge in air. In this paper, the effect of spraying of water droplets and location of water droplets into discharge area has been investigated. A coaxial electrode was used for making a discharge area. A solution of organic dye, indigo carmine, was used for a sample. In the decolorization of water solution of indigo carmine, the decolorization rate for the case of passing as water droplets into the discharge area is faster than that of flowing along the inner wall of a reactor in the discharge area. This result shows that spraying as water droplets into the discharge area of air is more effective for water treatment than passing as water film of inner wall. In the decolorization of water droplets of the indigo carmine solution, the water droplets passing near the cylindrical electrode of the reactor is decolored faster than that of other location.
