Abstract :
Evaluation of intelligent residential communities (IRC) is complicated by the high aggregation of the multi-criteria and multi-dimensional perspectives. Most of the existing evaluation models are criticized for being prone to intentional or unintentional biases due to their depending on experts´ opinion. In response to this deficiency, this paper constructed an IRC evaluation model using the Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART). The proposed model used the designed ART2 algorithm to cluster IRCs under evaluation automatically and find out the optimal solution easily. The effectiveness of the proposed neural network approach was demonstrated through benchmarking the clustering achieved by ART2 with the analysis result obtained in the overall balancing model presented first.
