Abstract
This paper introduces a method to find the location and the size of series capacitors to maximize the diagonal terms of the Jacobian submatrix. The obtained results are based on a newly defined d(∂Q i/∂Vi)/dKs criterion for voltage stability. The continuation method is used to update the bus voltage magnitudes and angles using the developed dV/dKs and dδ/dKs parameters, respectively
