Abstract
Assessment of left ventricular diastolic function is a delicate task in part because it may indicate dysfunction of ventricle earlier than systolic indices but its sensitivity depends on hemodynamic factors as well as pathological conditions. A computer simulation was used to study the effect of hemodynamic effects on diastolic indices. Reduction of peak filling rate was found to be dependent on the changes in venous return and did not correlate with the change in chamber stiffness
