Abstract :
This paper deals with the digital simulation of the vector control of fixed frequency current controlled (FF CC) PWM inverter-fed self controlled synchronous motor (SCSM) for unity power factor operation (u.p.f.) with fast dynamic response. The reference currents are generated by the vector controller in accordance with the rotor positions. The error currents after operating on the respective P/PI-controllers are compared with the triangular carrier wave at constant frequency. The generalised d-q model of the synchronous motor without damper windings has been used for the self controlled synchronous mode operation. A simplified model, based on justifiable assumptions, has also been obtained for the CC PWM inverter-fed SCSM. The complete simulation has been carried out in TURBO-C and transient and steady state responses have been studied
