Speeding up the workflow using groupware technologies

Summary form only given as follows. Unilever Turkey needed a technology which will enable teams to collaborate during the roll-out of a $7.2 million Information Technology (IT) project. This paper presents a groupware technology designed to control the flow of work in and between the teams during the roll-out of the first phase of the above mentioned IT project. In contrast to traditional design where the groupware could be adapted to change the flow of work between a group of users (teams and team members), the groups of users were to define the flow which gave more flexibility and has added benefit of creating a corporate memory. Tangible benefits attributed to the technology are demonstrated in the paper by comparing different metrics for both Unilever Turkey and a set of companies who undertook a similar IT project
