Abstract :
Summary form only given as follows. The authors look at business process reengineering as a possibility for transformation of enterprises in the Republic of Macedonia. The radical changes are essentially needed to help countries in this transitional period. Changing from one way of thinking to another market oriented way is a long term process. There are various ways to do this. We think that one of the fastest and most efficient ways is business process reengineering, because it addresses the most important business goals in today´s global economy: time to market, quality, low cost and flexibility. 10 key points should be considered during implementation of reengineering projects in a transitional economy: (1) to begin treating production and services with the same attention immediately; (2) ask basic questions about company processes; (3) set specific objectives, that should be measurable; (4) choose your own BPR methodology; (5) make work done through specific projects; (6) promote entrepreneurship spirit in the organizations; (7) be aware for the culture and behavior within organizations; (8) specific employee training; (9) gain whole senior management support; and (10) intensify team work. Transition, or transformation of current business processes is indispensable if someone wants to work in the market oriented business world. Since the Republic of Macedonia is building a new political-economic system it will be better to start over-instead of changing or modifying previous ways of working. BPR is the possibility for that
