Abstract
The breakdown of almost uniform field spark gaps is described. An extrapolation of published uniform field spark breakdown of SF6 and air is presented. Pulse over-volted dark and illuminated spark gaps are described. Electric field enhanced triggered 3 electrode spark gaps are described. Examples of series injection triggered 2 electrode switches that are used in EMP pulsers and in SREMP pulsers are presented. A low voltage, high current, direct drive EMP pulser with a unique triggering system is described Some early EMP pulsers are presented. Fast risetime EMP pulsers that produce high voltage pulses into an antenna load are presented.
